The Lake County Community Foundation announced today the addition of the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Davis to the Board of Directors, as well as new officer roles for several existing members.
The Rev. Dr. Davis, senior pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Libertyville, joins the Foundation board with a lengthy record of civic and board service, community engagement and leadership across the entire county – both with and among faith-based groups as well as non- denominational social service agencies and public-private partnerships.
His arrival coincides with the elevation of third-term board member and Green Oaks resident, Miah H. Armour, from the role of Vice-Chair to Board Chair, and of Dominica Tallarico, president of Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville to Vice-Chair. Martha Hinchman senior vice president of The Northern Trust Company, who joined the board in early 2015, assumes the role of Secretary. Larry Connolly, General Counsel, Aon Hewitt, retired, will continue as Treasurer for another term. “I am pleased to welcome Pastor Bob to this committed group of Lake County community and business leaders,”said Armour. “In just over a decade, together with donors and the support of The Chicago Community Trust, the Foundation has invested over $3,000,000 of competitive grants across the Lake County nonprofit landscape. It’s powerful to see what we can achieve when we pool our philanthropic dollars for maximum impact. The upcoming grant cycle takes on even more importance as nonprofit groups throughout Lake County struggle to serve more people in need with less resources due to the state budget shortfall.”
The Foundation’s 2016 competitive grant cycle will openin May. Technical assistance sessions are scheduled for May 17th and 18th and Letters of Inquiry are due May 27th. Proposals will be evaluated starting in late June with notification of awards scheduled for July 29, 2016.
