For more than 20 years, The Lake County Community Foundation (LCCF) has risen as a trusted local leader in philanthropy. Our purpose is to improve the quality of life for ALL in Lake County, but charitable resources have not kept pace with the rapidly increasing demand for services. The needs in our community are increasing as the gap between the wealthiest and poorest residents becomes greater.

LCCF launched the Campaign for a Thriving Lake County to deepen its impact in Lake County. We know that when we give together, we have the ability to create an impact far greater than any of us could alone. Through the Campaign for a Thriving Lake County, together, we can ensure that Lake County’s needs will be met.

At LCCF, we serve our community by helping donors find meaningful ways to give locally, by providing civic countywide leadership and by collaborating with nonprofits to address community needs through
our grant making. We thank you for learning more about how you can be a part of a collective effort in creating a thriving Lake County.

The Vision That Started It All: LCCF’s Beginning

One LCCF founder, Robert F. Reusche (Bob), generously left a $1 million legacy gift in his will to establish the Robert F. Reusche Operating Endowment – LCCF’s “forever fund.” Today, Bob’s charitable legacy lives on and thanks to the generosity of additional Lake County donors, the operating endowment alone has grown to over $10 million.

Growing this pool of funding through the Campaign for a Thriving Lake County is vital to ensuring our community has a permanent charitable resource. Together, we can make the vision that Bob and our LCCF founders had for the Foundation and Lake County a reality.

We extend our gratitude to the following partners who have thoughtfully invested in strengthening our community’s future through a gift to the campaign.

When donors choose to donate to an endowed fund held at the Foundation, they want their action to cause something in our community to thrive.

The Campaign

Our goal for the Campaign for a Thriving Lake County is to raise $16 million for the benefit of Lake County in partnership with generous people like you.

With an additional infusion of gifts to the endowment, this “forever fund” will provide sufficient annual revenue to support the Foundation’s operations, programs and philanthropic services. As our community invests together in this permanent endowment, this will ensure LCCF can serve donors, fund nonprofits, build innovative programs and bring the community together around issues and solutions in perpetuity.

With this reliable source of annual revenue, we can reach even further:
• To tackle existing and new issues
• To build stronger community partnerships and collaborations
• To increase investment in effective nonprofits
• To support a pipeline of strong nonprofit leaders for Lake County
• To expand our network of engaged community members to teach the next generation about philanthropy

Why partner with LCCF?

Our donors trust us to steward their philanthropic assets.
We hold 54 funds totalling over $25 million and counting, in partnership with our professional asset managers at William Blair – providing a smarter way for donors to invest in their community.
Our donors trust our local expertise.
We know Lake County, its needs and the key stakeholders working to improve it. In partnership with our donors and nonprofit agencies, we have invested nearly $13 million into Lake County’s nonprofit sector.
Our donors trust our community leadership.
We have moved the needle on a variety of community issues, funded and fledged critical cross-sector collaborations, launched new programs and when our community needs us most such as the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly mobilized and established Lake County’s only permanent Crisis Relief Fund.

Ways to Give
