Ways to Give

Your charitable goals are unique and can't be met with a one-size-fits-all approach. That's why the Foundation offers a variety of strategic giving vehicles designed to meet individual and multiple objectives. Perhaps you want to memorialize a loved one, start a family tradition of giving, address a pressing community concern or convert a private foundation–the Foundation can help you select an appropriate giving vehicle or combination of vehicles to achieve your goal.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund can be established with as little as $10,000. It enables you to create a named fund and actively participate in grant making. Donor advised funds can be efficient alternatives to private family foundations.

Supporting Organizations

With a minimum of $3 million, you can set up a supporting organization. Ideal as an alternative to a private family foundation, a supporting organization receives more favorable tax treatment and fewer restrictions. When you establish a supporting organization, you and the Foundation's Board of Advisors appoint a board of directors to oversee it.

Unrestricted Endowment

Donors who contribute to the unrestricted endowment of the Foundation leave a lasting legacy to the community. The endowment is available to respond quickly and creatively to the community's most pressing challenges, as new issues arise and evolve over time.

Restricted Funds

You may dedicate, in perpetuity, a restricted fund to a specific issue of concern in the community such as education, health or human services. The Foundation's Board of Advisors distributes income from restricted funds to charities that address your community concerns.

Designated Funds

Donors use designated funds to support a particular charitable organization or organizations in perpetuity. The Foundation ensures that the designated recipients receive grants as long as they remain in existence and continue to fulfill their intended charitable purpose.

Agency Endowments

Agency endowments are created by not-for-profit organizations to ensure a steady and reliable income source. This enables charities to plan the future with confidence, seize new opportunities and meet emerging needs as they arise.
